Tom Roland Hutchings came to his death by hanging as prescribed
by
law for the death of Bernice Connors of Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick,
Canada.
This a detailed account of the 1942 murder of Bernice Conners of Blacks
Harbour and the subsequent search for a murderer. It details the
collection of witnesses and evidence and the arrest of Sgt Tom Roland
Hutchings RAF who was in the Commonwealth training unit stationed at
Pennfield at that time. The story is a narrative of the jailer of the
time Mr George Goodeill and describes in detail the treatment of the
prisoner and the daily events that surrounded the trial and execution
of Hutchings. A front page story at the time it still elicits strong
opinion as to the innocence or guilt of the airman. A very sad tale of
youth and death in Charlotte County, New Brunswick., Canada
