RUBY'S BOOKSHELF
Ned Brewster's Year in the Big Woods by Chauncey J Hawkins - first edition published September1912 by Little, Brown, and Company with illustrations from photographs by the author - 291 pages - hard cover.
I am not certain if this is a true story but it does not appear to be a work of fiction. It is set in the woods of New Brunswick in the Miramichi region - a moose hunting adventure of a boy and his Dad who lived in Boston. The boy's mother had died and the father took him for a year into the woods with Mose. They take the train to Doaktown. In my opinion - a story you will not easily forget. VERY INTERESTING for those who love the woods and hunting. Many interesting adventures.
