By the Clio Collective: Micheline Dumont, Michele Jean, Marie Lavigne, Jennifer Stoddart, 4 historians who have reconstructed the collective past of women who have lived in Quebec during the past 4 centuries. Translated by Roger Gannon and Rosalind Gill.  Each section of the book is begun with a resume of important historical events as a backdrop to the history of the women of that era. Footnotes at the end of each chapter are limited to quotations from historical figures, primarily women.  Book contains 15 chapters with titles such as: Unsung Heroines, Family Life, Women Under the Ancient Regime, Getting Married, Working Under Another Roof, Modern Women, Your Country Needs You: From Bombs to Babies.   An excellent source.
