From Back Cover " Mary Elizabeth Maxwell born in Norval in 1914 and loved "Lilac Hill" the home place she describes in this book. She married the Reverend James Maxwell, an Anglican priest, and with two young children and three churches in the parish, the found that 'the quiet life of a country parson' was somewhat illusory ideal. They retired in 1976 to a log cabin they had built on the Credit Hills overlooking Norval in Ontario.

Tells of her journey of living in a small rural town in Canada - filled with historical events, anecdotes, and personal reflections of rural life of  Norval, Ontario, outlines the history by sharing memories of a past that should not be forgotten.

Experience the small community of Norval from the first Loyalist settlers, the McNabs, in 1783 to the present day reality of urban development  on every side.
