Harrison
My great-grandmother, Jane Harrison, was born in the townland of Ballyhunsley (near Dunluce) in Co. Antrim in Ireland in Nov 1904 to a Presbyterian family. Her parents were Robert and Sarah (nee Meek) Harrison. In Feb 1907 her sister, Mary, was born.
In 1925, Jane Harrison gave birth to my grandmother in the Belfast workhouse and shortly after this my grandmother was given to another family, with whom she was raised. We believe my great-grandmother, and her sister Mary travelled to North America. Indeed there are records of Jane Harrison and Mary Harrison landing in the port of St John, New Brunswick in April 1928 aboard the Canadian Pacific boat, the "Montcalm". The problem has been in finding out what happens after this point. One other item which may be relevant is that Jane and Mary's uncle, James Harrison (born1880) and his wife Elizabeth (nee Kane) emigrated to Canada post 1916, but again I have never been able to find any records for them in Canada.
I would be so grateful for any information that can be found on Jane Harrison. To know what became of her mother would give my grandmother such peace of mind.
